Vision Statement – July 2021
As a United Methodist Church, our members hold diverse theological views but we are united in the Spirit which draws us together. The heritage of our denomination gives us the ability to say “Amen!” when we feel the Spirit within, and at the same time challenge those who think they are better than other people because of something which has happened to them. As children of God we value all other children. One of the founders of the Methodist movement, John Wesley, discovered what God had done for him. He wrote, “I am a child of God; that Jesus Christ hath loved me, and given himself for me; that all my sins are blotted out, and I, even I, am reconciled to God.” He went on to say that there were marks of the Spirit which all share and that believers shared a witness to the presence of the Holy Spirit whenever they displayed faith, hope, and love.
We share a calling to help others discover and know they are dearly loved by God, and to encourage persons to then live their lives in gracious and joyous response. Our mission is to provide life-changing experiences with Christ through loving and accepting all people. To do this, we are called to grow in Christ through nurturing discipleship and service.
