History
Historically, the United Methodist church has generally reflected the American Society in social views and manner of life. This remains true in 2021, as many of the issues which confront and divide society in general have caused divisions within the United Methodist church. In Middleton, we have differences among members, but have decided to affirm our unity in Christ and in the historic Articles of Religion of the Methodist movement. While this draws us to the theological center on many current controversies, we are fully committed to the Articles such as “Faith in the Holy Trinity,” “The Sufficiency of the Holy Scriptures for Salvation,” “Free Will,” and “Justification” by faith.
